The Government of India under the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) is offering scholarship slots to Malawian Nationals under the ‘India-Africa Maitri Scholarship for Africa’ for the academic year 2025-2026’.

Applications from interested Malawian students are invited online through ICCR’s Scholarship Portal at http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in, where all information for the applicants is available. This information includes details of all participating Universities/ institutes, courses offered, availability of hostels, application guidelines, eligibility criteria and other relevant information that will help applicants in decision-making while applying for the academic courses of their preference.

The scholarship covers the following: (i) Payment of tuition/ registration fees (ii) Return economy class air-fares (iii) hostel facility; (iv) Living Allowance to meet hostel and food catering charges. Please note that medical insurance charges will be borne by the students themselves.

Last date of submission of online applications is 30^th April 2025.

Requirements

Applicants must.

1. Be Malawian citizens with at least six credits including English at MSCE or its equivalent, applicants will also be required to fulfill course specific requirements,
2. Be above 18 years of age and will not have reached their 26th birthday by 1 January 2025 and must attach a copy of a birth certificate.
3. Present a copy of the biodata page of passport, if available.
4. Present a copy of the Malawi School Certificate of Education or its equivalent.
5. Upload a medical/ physical fitness certificate to be downloaded from the website.
6. Upload recommendation / character certificates from their previous school
7. Be prepared to bring original Certificates/ documents if admitted for verification by the concerned University/ Institute

• Applications must properly be filled before submission as any incomplete applications will NOT be processed
